Just to fill you in on a little about me...
I'm originally from Buras, Louisiana. It's the toe that sticks out into the Mississippi River and the Gulf of Mexico...not the end of Louisiana but the beginning!!
I went to private schools until 4th grade, and then my mom homeschooled me until 11th grade when I went to Buras High School.
The summer before graduation, I worked at the Assemblies of God campground in Woodworth, Louisiana...and there I (along with a group of friends) decided to go to Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas...where I earned a B.S. in Secondary Education with a specialization in English.
I got my first job in 2001, teaching at Buras Middle School...8th grade English...and I was there for 4 years.
In 2003, I married my best friend Lee.
In 2005, we moved to his hometown, Pineville, where I taught at Pineville High School for 2 years.

When Lee graduated from LSUA, we decided to both pursue full-time vocational ministry as Chi Alpha campus missionaries at the University of Louisiana Lafayette, where we served for 5 years.
In June of 2012, our family sold/gave away a lot of our belongings and moved to Colorado to help plant a church in Highlands Ranch.
In 2016, we moved back to Louisiana to be close to my family after we found out that my dad has cancer. He's lived a longer time than the doctors gave him, and we have enjoyed being around them! He and my mom have been so helpful to us!
Lee and I both accepted jobs teaching at an elementary school where our 3 children attend. It's been challenging and rewarding, and working together and being off together is just about the best thing ever.
This blog has been a great outlet for me. I've enjoyed writing about what inspires me...what I'm passionate about...what I feel blessed to have in my life - great kids, a great relationship with my husband, and a growing relationship with God.
