My Favorite Things Party!!

I decided to write what I've done here as a reference!

That way it can be easy to find for those of you who would like to do this with your friends, women's ministry groups, co-workers, or family! :)

Here are the instructions I sent out to the ladies.  I used email, but you could make a cute paper invitation too for this! :)
My Favorite Things Party
1. Choose 1 of your most favorite things that costs $5 or less
This can be your best kept secret cleaning product, beauty product, special treat...anything that is YOUR favorite.
2. Buy 3 of that SAME EXACT ITEM. (Shouldn't cost you more than $15 - and it will not be 3 different things…they will all 3 be the same exact item; for example, same color/flavor of chapstick, same color of socks, same kind of candy!)
3. Bring those 3 EXACT SAME ITEMS to the party. They don't have to be wrapped because you'll be showing everyone what it is!
4. You'll be going home with 3 new items that could become your new favorites *But you’ll be arriving with 3 of the exact same thing!!!

When the ladies arrive at the party, they place their items on a table for display, and then I have them write their name on 3 different slips of paper and put all 3 pieces of paper in  a basket.

Then I'll have everyone draw a number from a different cup, and we go in order of the number drawn.

Each woman stands up and explains what her item is and why it is her favorite, then she immediately pulls 3 names from the basket to give it to!

We had women go home with chocolates, chapsticks, utility knives, cleaning products, chips and guacamole, chips and salsa, candles, and sooooo many other goodies!

We will have a few get-togethers before our next BIG event - that will be this summer! It’s our Summer White Party…I’ll have details on that soon!

Please email me or leave a comment here if you have any questions! I am happy to help you host your own party!! It is definitely something our ladies look forward to!

Joli Women's Ministry:: Favorite Things Party

One of my roles here in Colorado is to lead the Joli Women's Ministry of Connection Church.

I absolutely love this!! I get to organize events for us to get together to get to know each other better, have fun, and grow spiritually...

Our first event was meeting at Arts on Fire, a local pottery place where you can pick your own piece of pottery and paint it. That was so much fun...and as I write this, I'm actually drinking hot chocolate out of the mug I painted that night!!!

Our second event was just this past Friday night. We had a "Favorite Things Party!"
(*Special thanks Ms. Mittie from Lafayette for giving me this wonderful idea!!!)

Favorite Things Party

Here is the directions I gave the ladies:

1. Choose 1 of your most favorite things that costs $5 or less
This can be your best kept secret cleaning product, beauty product, special treat...anything that is YOUR favorite.
2. Buy 3 of those same item. (Shouldn't cost you more than $15)
3. Bring those 3 items to the meeting place on Friday night. They don't have to be wrapped because you'll be showing everyone what it is!
4. You'll be going home with 3 new items that could become your new favorites!!!

So on Friday night, we had each lady write her name on 3 pieces of paper and put it in a bowl. Then we drew numbers to see what order we would go in. (Mrs. Mittie said that she numbered name tags, and they went in the order on their name tags...I just didn't et name tags for our event.) Each lady then was able to introduce herself and explain why she brought her favorite thing...and then pull 3 names for who she would give it to!

Friday was a wonderful night! We had snacks and punch as we socialized before...and then we had a ton of fun doing the exchange! Some ladies even squealed with delight as their name was pulled!! It was like winning 3 different times!!! It was so neat to learn more about each other...and to hear about some great products too!!
The ladies loved it so much, they are already talking about when we can do this again!!!!

I came home with Rose Salve (never heard of before!!), a Shine Eraser, and a hand-made crocheted headband!!! So fun!!!!

This is a fun event to do with your friends...and an opportunity to invite new ladies to be a part of your life - this doesn't have to be done with a church group...you can totally do this on your own!!!
(If you would like to do this for your women's ministry or with your friends, and you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with me!! I'd love to help how I can!!!!)

Connection Church Denver - Joli Women's Ministry Fundraiser...

We are a part of a phenomenal launch team (the 14 or so of us who are working together to make Connection Church happen)...

It's exciting to see the people who are dedicated to making this church a reality.

Each Sunday is a marathon kind of day. Early morning...hard work carrying in, setting up, meeting people, smiling a lot, taking care of things while church is happening, and then tearing down...

It's just a long day. But it's great that everyone pitches in...and really goes above and beyond...

Yesterday, once the nursery was finished being set up, there were ladies helping set up the cafe area...and everything was taken care of like that. We were set up a lot faster than we thought we would be...and as we get more and more used to it...it will go even faster.

There are point people for certain areas, and it's that person's responsibility to make sure everything is done correctly, but they are not on their own to make it happen. That's a good thing. We really are in this together. No one has this mentality of "well, I'm finished with my part...now I can just wait for church to start..."

It really is a great team to be a part of.

And we are blessed with a phenomenal set up. There are churches who have existed for a long time and still don't have the media/sound/lighting/kids' church set up that we have...and that is because we are under Crossroads Church in Lafayette, LA, and they set us up for success with these things...which is a HUGE HUGE HUGE blessing...

One of the things I'm getting to lead is the women's ministry here. I'm really excited about that...getting to provide women in this area with opportunities for fun, fellowship, and a way to build relationships with each other. I'm believing for strong friendships to happen through this ministry...I'm praying for it even now...

Our first event is coming up next week. We're going to Arts on Fire - which is where you can pick out a pottery piece to paint, and after you paint it, they fire it up for you to take home...

I'm really looking forward to it!!! We are renting the back room, providing snacks, and the ladies will just pay for their own pottery pieces. It is going to be a lot of fun!!!

I'm currently hosting a Pampered Chef online/catalog "show" as a fundraiser for our Joli Women's Ministry here at Connection Church. Instead of earning free products from the show as the host, I'll be able to receive a cash donation for Joli from my consultant, Darlene Chatham.

If you are interested in shopping for great gifts for others or products for yourself as well as helping me donate to a great ministry, you can check out the website here. Once you are on the website, click "shop online," and you will be taken to a page where you can then enter Bri Blakney as the host. Any orders are appreciated!!!!

I'm really excited about how this ministry is going to grow!!! And I'm really looking forward to meeting new ladies in the area and sharing our journey of faith together...

this is a wonderful adventure to be a part of...
